Ill Gates, previously known as 'The Phat Conductor', has years of experience in electronic music production and live performance. Coming to Montreal mid-October, he will be holding a seminar/workshop illustrating techniques and tips for creating music on computer software.
The workshop will cover songwriting concepts, sound design, library organization and working with Abelton Live software- among other vital tips and tricks on music production and musicianship. The afternoon course costs $50 per person- this not only includes the afternoon training but also access to Ill Gates' DJ templates on the Abelton Live software a subscription to his rack collection. Also, if you have two people to sign up with you, your admission is free, along with a free set of steak knives. Actually, no steak knives, but definitely worth your time and pennies.
I've seen Ill Gates live and also checked out some of his instructional clips online- clearly a phenomenal producer and performer, patient teacher, and generally knowledgeable and sharing personality, this is a great opportunity to get an introduction to music production and performance from someone who knows.
