Montreal, Quebec
Montreal's Piknic needs no indroduction, description, or labels. There are not enough positive adjectives in my vocabulary to describe it.
This Sunday git' your piknic ready early so you can dance to Pompe tes Pipes from 2pm while you're eating your ham sandwiches for lunch. DJ Alix follows from 4pm spinning some electro minimal/electro house and breakbeat. Information on this elusive character is somewhat scarce [Read: no obvious leads through a brief google search by yours truly/Read: lazy.] so I for one am barely suppressing the anticipation.
Montreal DJ veteran DJ Bliss will be taking the stage from 6pm. Bliss has been a prominant player on the local scene for a good while now. As a relative newcomer to this musical paradise you call Montreal I have yet to see DJ Bliss play live, however, at some point I aquired a promotional mix by Bliss. The mix in question is my Go To. When in doubt, I Go To it. Parties, after-parties, casual soirees with friends and close aquaintances, it's a collection of music that I am yet to find opposing opinion. I can't wait to see DJ Bliss aka 'Always Appropriate' in action.
Then, at 8pm, four everyday Californian boys will unite to become The Glitch Mob, bringing you their special brand of dance floor superstardom and glitch bang bang partycore- you will dance, oh how you will dance.
As always, I urge you to play safe. Wear sunscreen, drink lots of fluids, look after each other, and eat your sandwiches slowly so as to avoid indigestion and/or stitch from consuming-whilst-dancing. Ouch.
See you there!
