The Forward Massive Celebrating Big.

This week marks Forwards's first anniversary.  Celebrating one massive year of bringing the best local and visiting pioneers of the underground to Bar Passeport every Thursday.

Around this time last year, Forward Thursday's were brought into being by founding mastermind, resident and local dubstep master Intoccabile.  Filling the dubstep sized hole in the underground, Intoccabile and current purveyor David Rawalia aka Wally began the weekly dubstep-oriented club night at Bar Passeport.

Leaving to pursue different projects, Intoccabile left the fold in the more than capable hands of Rawalia, along with promotional and organisational genius Gabriel Audet.  The pair were soon joined by Rhys Taylor of the Broken Crew,  completing the current Forward crew massive.  One year on and the Passeport weekly has cultivated a dedicated family of friendly bass addicts, music lovers and oft frequenting new faces.  Booking talent from all over the spectrum, guest appearances have included Accomplice, Khiasma, Ghostbeard, Living~stone, Bombaman, DZ, Vilify and Bowzer, playing predominantly bass-driven underground sounds.  Breaks to big beat, grime to dnb, dubstep and jungle played out for all of Montreal's underground music followers.

Putting in the hard yards and getting bigger and better at every turn,  David, Gabi and Rhys took some time in the new year to re-evaluate; reconvening with a finely tuned and united ambition for future Forward events. Continuing to provide a weekly night filled with innovative electronic performances in a welcoming katacombe of bass and beats, the crew will be pushing recognition and integration of related electronic scenes.   

Gettin' crazy this week and next, Forward will be bringing you three of the biggest passeport nights to date.   This Thursday [May 21st] Megasoid/Ninjatune hip-hop extraordinaire SIXTOO will be headlining, along with talented hip-hop/breaks/fist funk/erectro turntablist and producer DJ Dialect [Check his myspace for the reference].  Also appearing this Thursday will be live beatbox ruckus Abra + X-wam.  It's been a while since these human mouth machines have played out so don't miss the chance to catch them again.  There have also been rumours of some special mike appearances by some of  Forward's most hailed guest MC's. 

June 4th, the Passeport subs will be rumbling from one of Montreal's biggest dubstep party throw downs this year.  One of most influential names responsible for introducing the Dubstep movement to Montreal, DJ/producer Sase One of the notorious Dubstep duo the Dubstep Experiment  is back from the East coast, exclusively for Forward.   Lucky Montreal has also just inherited badass dubstep soundboy Construct- who will be colouring the subs Heavy in one of his first official shows in his new home town.  

As always, Wally and Rhys will be doing their thang like they do their thang' -dropping phat tracks and warming up the crowd at each and every show,  just one of the reasons keeping everyone coming back.

Bringing you the freshest bass and urban driven beats for one huge year, Forward are only planning bigger.   The new year is bringing a tighter ambition,  bigger performances and more fun for the whole electronic family.  Thursday's are still my favourite day of the week.
