Nuit Blanche - Cite of Immortels and Subwoofer

Get your Nuit Blanche into gear with fun times at Galerie Armatta and their new Subwoofer night! The galerie will be hosting 'The Cite of Immortels' followed by the 'Subwoofer' afterparty at the newly opened Cabaret du Mile End.

This series by photographer Maxime Boisvert was inspired by the short story The Immortel by Jorge Luis Borges, a man discovers that those that have reached immortality have become insane and have abandoned their city after having modified its architecture so much that it becomes complete nonsense.

While working on this series, Maxime Boisvert became interested in what would be the actual impact of immortality on the conception and comprehension of the world. He photographed architecture from the real world, transforming and contorting the structures to create absurd figures. These figures stretch toward abstraction, encouraging the audience to modify its indicators and discover an unknown universe. Each image is accompanied by a narrative of this unknown universe represented by the artist.

$5 at the door includes a free glass of wine. DJs for the event are: DJ Eliazar, Nick Grimmer, Hakim Guelmi and VJ Bandit. Expect a night of bass-heavy beats and fun times!
