Richmond Lam brought together Thomas Leblanc, Spencer Edwards and David Madden for a portrait series he was shooting, and while on set we talked together about style.

Each of these gents lays claim to a wicked sense of style and each one has his own take on menswear and fashion. We sent some questions their way following the shoot, here's what they had to say:

Thomas Leblanc:

Where did you grow up? Ahuntsic.

What do you do? Trying to make sense.

What are some of your favourite labels? Christophe Lemaire, Margaret Howell, Naked and Famous shirts, traditional outerwear companies.

What are your favourite places to shop? Les Étoffes, bookstores.

Whose style do you admire (could be from the past, a character in a movie, or anyone) Evgeny Lebedev, owner of The Independent.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe? A canvas bag from WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie.

What item of clothing or trend do you think is wildly overrated? Technology.

What do you think is the most important ingredient for style? Intelligence.

Favourite blogs and magazines? The New Yorker, Hobo, Inventory, Popjustice.

Favourite movie? The Future.

Spencer Edwards:

Where did you grow up? Brampton, Ontario.

What do you do? I am a lifestyle blogger, style consultant, and as well a student of fashion marketing.

What are some of your favourite labels? I'm not much of a fan of labeling, but I am pretty fond of Ralph Lauren.

What are your favourite places to shop? I enjoy shopping at boutiques and thrift stores mainly. You can always find unique pieces with a story to tell at boutiques and thrift stores vs. a shopping mall.

Whose style do you admire? I really admire Pete Doherty and Andre 3000.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe? Has to be my wooden beaded bracelets.

What item of clothing or trend do you think is wildly overrated? G - Shock watches.

What do you think is the most important ingredient for style? Knowing of self.

Favourite blogs and magazines? Wolves and Bucks, Aura with an M, Speaking Pixels, Abstract Elements, and Abstract Elements Tumblr.

Favourite movie? Not much of a movie freak, but Inception really impressed me.

David Madden:

Where did you grow up? Honolulu, Hawaii; Conroe, Texas; Kingston, Ontario.

What do you do? Music producer/PhD Candidate in Communication Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, and part-time faculty for the Department of Communication Studies there
(Miracle Baby Sound).

What are your favourite places to shop? Heritage, Les Etoffes, U&I, Voro, Nouveau Palais, PA ...

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe? My basketball shoes.

What item of clothing or trend do you think is wildly overrated?
When guys wear pants with their ass sticking out.
